I Don’t Want To Be Famous
My 5 year old C is a pretty easygoing kid. Usually things don’t bother him too much and if it does, it rolls off fairly quickly. When things do bother him, it gets amped up really quickly, but lucky for us, it’s not been as often now that he is 5.
As I was talking about him to some other parents, C will walk by and say that he doesn’t want to be famous. He hasn’t let this one go quite as easily so anything within his earshot will cause that comment to come out.
He will sometimes also do a drive by and tap me so he knows I’m paying attention. When I asked him what he needs, he will reply with the same comment about not wanting to be famous. Doesn’t matter if the comment is positive or it’s a funny story he is in that I am retelling - the kid doesn’t want to be famous.
C does say he wants to be on tv playing soccer, but doesn’t want to be famous. It’s almost impossible for those two things to be true. I guess the kid can hope though and to him, anything is possible. I definitely miss that kind of mentality as an adult!
