Do You Want Bananas?
After talking to my 7 year old daughter about how shopping apps on your phone get you do buy more things easily a few weeks ago, she has constantly brought it up. She knows how it works now and when I was buying something on Amazon a few days ago, I made a joke about Amazon offering you bananas after trying to checkout. Without fail, there are always bananas offered and there are even two different kinds they offer to customers.
The joke wasn’t something super creative. It was just nudging her side and asking her if she wanted bananas and if she said no, I’d ask her again with an eh eh eh after the question. Lots of nudging and saying I know she wants bananas made her crack up laughing. It was so funny to her.
She must have told her 5 year old little brother C because a few days later, he was aging the joke to his 2 year old little brother L. They were all laughing about it and L saw me looking at him while he was laughing. He stopped laughing and asked if I wanted bananas. Then they all started laughing again.
All I could do was smirk. It was so cute that a small joke and interaction a while ago led to more funny moments. It really is the little things that build up on top of each other and it’s all thanks to Amazon offering bananas nonstop, whether you need them or not.
