Trying on Jackets

My wife needed to catch up on some chores during the week and she was folding and sorting clothes when I got home from work. I picked up our 1 year old son L and our other two kids, 6 year old daughter E and 5 year old son C, were home already. They were causing some trouble and I could clearly tell my wife was getting annoyed at them.

I bought my kids some Nike clothes for the fall and was wondering where they were as my wife was sorting through it. She didn’t know, so I was searching a bit. The kids were making a mess and my wife’s grumpy side came out. All of a sudden, my kids stopped being so crazy and E wanted to still try on the new Nike jacket she found in her drawer. My wife was having none of it and then E asked me too help her because I’m more “cheerful” as she says.

Usually the roles are reversed where I am the grumpy one and my wife is the cheerful one. I was nice to have the roles reversed, so my kids came over to me as we did a mini fashion show. They paraded in their new clothes as we got ready for real fall weather. I’m glad that I was able to help my kids try on their clothes and see how they fit. I’m excited for them to wear some matching outfits (not exact matches though because who does that?!). My wife also got some peace to finish what she wanted to do and that’s the most important thing, especially for a grump. I would know!
