The Berry Game

I’ve been trying to keep the kids entertained and was really grasping at straws. The summer was really dragging on (but oddly passing by quickly as well) so inventing little things to do during spans of the kids being bored was my new pastime. This is where i invented The Berry Game.

The Berry Game consisted of making up a kind of berry by naming it and then coming up with characteristics. I wanted my 7 year old daughter E and 5 year old son C to use their creative brains and figure out new things. They asked me to give an example, so I made up the Diaper Berry. The Diaper Berry looks like one of the stinkiest berries in the world. You have to unwrap it like a diaper and there are little berries inside (that may resemble things found in a diaper). For those brave enough to eat it, it is the sweetest berry in the world. This got a huge laugh.

They wanted me to go again after a bit of practice on their side, so I made up the Tuxedo Berry. The tuxedo berry is one of the fanciest berries in the world and those who eat it must always eat it with their pinky up. This got another huge laugh. E and C went with me after dinner to walk the doggo around the neighborhood. We played The Berry Game the whole time (and a few more times to close out the summer).
