Teacher Appreciation Week

It was Teacher Appreciation Week last week and there were a lot of things my amazing wife did to prepare for two sets of teachers - one set in our 6 year old daughter E’s class and one set in our 4 year old son C’s class. My wife organized bouquets, collected donations, prepared a breakfast for teachers and mothers (for an early Mother’s Day), and made gifts. This was already much more than I would be able to do in a week.

E gets really excited for any special events. Since this was the entire week, she was happy to bring all of the gifts and things to her teachers. When there was a lull in the gifts towards the end of the week and a day before breakfast, E pushed for my wife to do more for the teachers.

I love that E is so considerate and wants to make sure the teachers are special. I also love that my wife is putting so much effort into the entire week. We ended up talking to E about remembering all the things that have happened during the week to remind her it was tough pulling everything together. My wife is exhausted from planning everything and also our entire household has been juggling sickness and hospital visits for the better part of the last few weeks. All things considered, there was a lot of thought going into the week and E quickly realized it after the conversation.

As E gets older, she can take the reins on doing more things. She is very creative and loves to put gifts together. The more chances she can create things, the happier she will be (and the less me and my wife will have to do!). Overall, it was a really successful week and I’m sure the teachers appreciated everything, including the extra thoughts E had on doing more!
