Striped Clothes

My 1 year old son L is so difficult to dress. He remind me of my 6 year old daughter E when she was the same age - lots of opinions about clothes and constant fights over it. With L, it is much worse since he fights over almost every outfit change (instead of just caring what was suggested in the mornings while half awake like E).

A few weeks ago, both E and my 5 year old C were already out of the shower and dressed for sleep. L was upset as usual and wouldn’t let me put anything on him. Somehow he had noticed what E and C were wearing, but couldn’t communicate that to me or my wife. We eventually deduced that L did indeed want striped clothes to match his older sister and older brother. I’m not sure how we figured it out, but I’m glad we did.

L ended up flapping his arms like a bird happily and we threw on his striped clothes. He then ran off to play with E and C. It was both a precious moment and a moment of relief that we got over another bout of clothing opinions. At least we were done for that day and all out of those fights!
