Potty Genius

Around this time when kids are close to 2 years old, they daycare we go to tries to teach the kids how to potty in a potty. Usually it takes a few tries and encouragement. Some kids are scared and other kids don’t understand. My 1 year old son L is different apparently.

When it was his turn to try the potty, his teachers took his diaper off. They had him stand over the potty and asked him to pee in the potty. To their surprise, L peed into the potty. First try. He is a potty genius. Maybe he got to observe his older brother C go to the potty at home many times. There is a reference point and a cheat code, so that concept wasn’t new to him.

A few weeks later, he was peeing in the potty at school and successfully went that time. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a 100% success rate and he got a bit on his pants. As the teachers were changing him, he steps into the potty to play. It ended up being.a bit of a mess. I guess he isn’t a potty genius and it was more beginner’s luck. I’ll take the wins though and glad that we have some great teachers at the daycare to to the encouraging (and the cleanup!).
