Have a Happy Belated Birthday

It was recently my birthday. I’m not a big birthday or celebration person because that’s not how I grew up. I do appreciate it when people do nice things on my birthday, but I’m equally happy with just having a normal day. At this time, I honestly just hope for a normal and quiet day because it is really hectic with my kids and crazy dog.

When I came home from work, I did leave a bit early so I could spend some time at home before my kids got home. I got a chance to take my dog out for a long walk and my wife grabbed our 6 year old daughter E and 5 year old son C from school. They were getting some things ready for my birthday and when I got back from my long walk, they set it all up to show me. I didn’t want to see anything yet because our 1 year old son L wasn’t home.

I ended up picking L up from daycare and coming back home. I saw 3 flower bouquets, which were made by my wife, E, and C. They all had their own distinct style. We are also trying to consume less and buying random stuff that the other person may not like or use. This ended up with me getting popcorn and some nice beef jerky. That’s exactly what I’m happy with! My wife also made me a little memory book that I could clip on my keys or backpack. It has little pictures of the family in it. I like it a lot too!

I think my favorite time of the day was at night when E and C were going to sleep. They ran out to bed and C came back for a quick second. He wished me to have a happy belated birthday tomorrow! That was so witty and I honestly have never had someone say that on the day of my birthday! Just a thoughtful and sweet moment from C. It was a good birthday and quiet enough for my liking!
