Cold Pool Plunge

My 6 year old daughter E has been going to swimming class for a few years now. She loves the water and looks like a fish happily in the right habitat. Her teacher has been letting her swim in the bigger pool where the high school kids usually practice and E loves it over on that side.

Usually when I pick her up from swim class, my 5 year old son C is done at the same time. It is really convenient schedule-wise and has really come together after a long wait period. We usually play in the pool for about 30 minutes before going to shower up. I usually like to stay in the warmer pool that is much smaller and that is what we do about 90% of the time.

Recently, E has been asking to take a plunge in the cold pool. She loves playing over there and wants to do flips and swim down and back. She also likes jumping off the small diving boards. I don't like jumping into the cold pool because it's usually after a 30 minute workout for me and I just want to stay warm. Luckily this time around, there was the high school team practicing on that side of the pool so I got a get out of jail free card.

That won't always be the case and I know I should eventually go over there some weeks when it is free. I promise that when it opens up and there aren't people swimming over there, we could go (as long as C agrees also). Then we will all take the cold pool plunge.
