Coconut Water Fun

Summer is hot. That’s a fact. My kids don’t necessarily like the heat, but they know it comes with popsicles and other cold treats. One of the newer things we’ve been trying to give them more of is coconut water. Ice cold coconut water on a cold day hits the spot like nothing else. My kids would agree and they also have a new reason why they are obsessed with it.

After downing the coconut water, my 7 year old daughter E and 5 year old son C have been cutting up the cartons into an airplane. After ignoring any of the sticky coconut water dripping everywhere, it was actually really cute. They created a fictional airline called Coconental Airlines and they had their own jingle as well! They just keep screaming Coconental Airlines in a singsong voice and it’s so catchy - mainly because they are so enthusiastic about it!

This went on for about two weeks. They would be excited to create the new additions to their fleet. My wife would see the mess and recycle the cartons. They the whole cycle would start all over. It was a lovely cycle watching from afar until they finally gave up because their airplanes kept ending up in the recycle (and we ran out of coconut water). It was fun while it lasted!
