T or F?

My 1 year old son has been really into letters. He wants to know the sounds, he points out the letters he knows on everything (shirts and books in particular), and he tries to sound things out. He loves trucks also, so he is always trying to grab and play with them.

As you can imagine, he doesn’t quite understand how to pronounce all the words. He also sees a lot of trucks in daycare and one day I was picking him up, he was trying to tell me what he saw. Except he doesn’t know whether he would start the word truck with a T or F.

That day, he decided truck starts with F. He also dropped the R in truck. So when I walked in the room, he was dropping some F bombs. I paused because I didn’t hear him clearly at first. As I got closer, he kept saying it louder and louder. The teachers looked at me to see if I would be upset about it. They didn’t want me to think they were teaching L how to drop F bombs!

Instead of being mad, I whipped out my phone to try and film him. He of course stopped saying what I wanted him to say and it was a funny moment for everyone. We had a good laugh and I brought him home while hoping I could catch him saying his new favorite word. One of these days I will!
