Hello Blanket

Sometimes I play silly games with my 2 year old son L to pass the time. Those games last a few days down to a few minutes. One of the games that was on the shorter side of things was called Hello Blanket.

The game is extremely simple as you can imagine…since my son is 2. He would put his face under the blanket and completely hide himself. I’m sure this has been played at millions of other households as well in some variations. My variation is talking to the blanket itself. I would say hello and just mess with the blanket while something was wiggling underneath. When L popped his face out, I would act shocked and say there is a boy in there!

L would bust out laughing and the cycle would repeat itself. We did that a couple times and the laughs would keep going until they got softer and softer. He eventually got bored and wanted to go play something else. Even though we don’t play Hello Blanket anymore, he now plays hide from Daddy with my wife before I snatch him for bedtime. Now that is an every night thing for months and the kid loves to hide before flashing his huge smile when he pops out. Can’t get tired of that (unless it’s way past his bedtime!).
