Dancers

I like to sneak in some basketball or football games here and there. I was watching a basketball game on NBA League Pass one night and my kids were watching it with me after dinner. It was time for them to shower so my wife was asking them to unglue their eyes from the screen. I was hoping it was not going to end up with some tantrums.

My 5 year old son C didn’t want to leave as predicted. He wanted to keep watching basketball. My wife pressed him on why and he said he wanted to see all the beautiful girl dancers on TV. Me and my wife shot each other a look and a smirk. I know our 7 year old daughter E also loved watching the dancers for their actual dance routine and their outfits (especially if they have sparkles). I’m not sure exactly why C said what he said, but it was definitely a funny moment.

After some more convincing, they went upstairs and I turned off the TV to follow them up. I feel like C is feeling some early feelings, but not sure what to make of it. He has said he wanted to marry one of his other classmates if she kept in touch with him long enough to where they were grown so they could be marine biologists together. When I asked him more about it, he wanted to play it cool and said it wasn’t a big deal. I hope my kids can talk to me about things they are thinking about and I do want to build that kind of relationship with them. I may or may not have helpful advice, but being there to help is what I aim to do!
